Delirium Tremens

Esta cerveja utiliza três diferentes tipos de levedura em sua fabricação. É uma cerveja encorpada com a roma e sabor de especiarias, leve no início mas com um final mais forte. Seu teor alcoólico é maior do que o da maioria das cervejas: 8,5%. Em 2008 ganhou o prêmio de melhor cerveja do mundo no Campeonato Mundial de cervejas que aconteceu em Chicago, Illinois, EUA.
O nome Delirium Tremens vem do Latin e é o nome dado ao mal sofrido por aqueles que sofrem crise de abstinência de algum tipo de droga, incluindo o álcool. Esse mal pode causar alucinações, por isso os elefantes cor-de-rosa no rótulo.

This beer uses tree different types of yeaster in its brewery process. It's a bodied beer with a spicy scent and flavour, it's light in the beggining, but it has a strong after taste. Its alcoholic strength is higher than most of the beers: 8.5%. In 2008, it won the Best Beer of The World award at the World Beer Championships in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
The name Delirium Tremens comes from Latin and it's the name given tothe harm suffered from the ones who have abstinence crisis of some kind of drug, including the alcohol. This harm can causes alucinations and that is the explanation for the pink elephants on the label.

Spaten Oktoberfest

País: Alemanha
Uma das 6 lagers presentes na Oktoberfest, em Munique. Esta cerveja é produzida no mês de março para ser bebida em outubro durante a festa. O teor alcoólico é um pouco mais elevado: 5,9%, seu sabor é levemente adocicado e ponto forte de seu aroma é o malte.

It's one of the 6 lagers from Oktoberfest, in Munich. This beer is brewed in March to be drunk in October, during the party. Is alcohol volume is a little bit higher: 5.9%, it's flavor is slightly sweet and its strongest scent is from malt.

Hops & Grain

País: EUA


Durante minha viagem pelo Texas, decidi dar uma paradinha em uma pequena cervejaria local em Austin, chamada Hops & Grain.
Na cervejaria eles possuem um bar, onde você pode provar as cervejas disponíveis, sendo que existem as cervejas regulares: year round, e as experimentais: greenhouse, as quais pode ser que nunca sejam encontradas para compra em alguma loja. É possível ainda assistir à um tour explicativo sobre a produção da cerveja, sendo que o guia do tour é extremamente atencioso com os visitantes.
Vamos agora à minha experiência com as cervejas:


ALTeration: Possuí sabor condimentado e amargor levemente acentuado no final.


Pale Dog: É uma cerveja com aroma frutado, possuí sabor de malte e de frutas cítricas com um certo amargor no final.


The One They Call Zoe: Mais similar com as cervejas pilsen brasileiras ou com as cervejas light americanas, é a mais leve com pouco amargor.


India Brown Lager: É uma cerveja bastante distinta, com sabor forte de ervas, muito diferente de qualquer outra que já tenha provado. Gostei muito da experiência.

During my Texas trip, I decided to stop by a little local Austin brewery, called Hops & Grain.
Inside the brewery they have a bar, where you can try the available beers, and there are the regular beers: year round, and the experjmental ones: greenhouse, which can be never found for purchase in a store. You can also go in a guided tour where they explain the brewing process, and the tour guide is very helpful with the visitors.

Now, let's go ahead with my experience with the beers:


ALTeration: It's a spicy beer with a slightly bitter after taste.


Pale Dog: It has a fruity scent, its flavor is malted with citric fruits and a little bitterness at the end.


The One They Call Zoe: It's very similar to the Brasilian pilsen beers or the american light beers , it's very light with little bitterness.


India Brown Lager: It's a very distinct beer, with a very strong herbal taste, very different from all beers I've ever tried. I really liked the experience.

Bishops Finger Kentish Strong Ale

País: Grã-Bretanha

Cerveja artesanal, produzida com água que fica a 60 metros de profundidade em um poço artesiano da própria cervejaria,  malte Kentish da fazenda Denne Hill e lúpulo de East Kent Goldings. Por que o nome Bishops Fnger? Bem, a Bishops Finger é um tipo incomum de placa em forma de dedo que ainda pode ser encontrada em Kent, e já foram usadas para indicar aos peregrinos o caminho para Canterbury.

Esta cerveja possuí sabor forte de malte e você também sentira sabor de frutas. É forte com seus 5,4% volumes de álcool.

It's hand-crafted beer,  brewed with water from the brewery's own 200 ft deep artesian well, Kentish malt from Denne Hill  Farm and East Kent Goldings hops. Why Bishops Finger? Well, a Bishops Finger is n unusual finger-shaped signpost still found in Kent, which once pointed pilgrims on their way to Canterbury.

This beer has a very strong malt taste and you also can feel fruit taste. It's strong with its 5,4% alcohol volume.
